Link Scheduling Algorithm for Delay Reduction in Half-Duplex Integrated Access and Backhaul Network
Abstract
Integrated access and backhaul (IAB) technology enabled cost reduction in a deployment of dense 5G network. Since it is based on multiple relay nodes, which have not got a wired connection to the core network and utilize a wireless backhaul for retransmit data, the half-duplex transmission mode is recommended for interference mitigation. Than, as only a part of channels could transmit at time, the scheduling algorithms should be applied. In this paper we motivated by quality of service provision focus on the packets end-to-end delays. We consider a max weight type of algorithms, introduce a scheduling algorithm for IAB network and study its performance with numerical comparison with four known scheduling algorithms from literature. The proposed algorithm outperform others in terms of mean end-to-end delay.
