PROGRAMS FOR ATRIBUTION AND FOR VIEWING PHOTOCOPIES OF A COLLECTION OF PORTRAITS
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of digitization and attribution of portraits in archive collections. The principal example is the collection of portraits from the Moscow Society of Naturalists archives. Special programs are developed for accumulation, editing, and searching of data concerning the persons portrayed; the first and last names can be handled in both native and Russified spelling. All programs are developed as web-applications to be called from the browser, which feature significantly simplifies the development of Internet access to the database.
